Recipe: how to prepare lentils in a single pot

  • 1 pound of lentils soaked overnight
  • 2 chopped onions
  • 2 long spring onions
  • 1 carrot
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 4 potatoes

Preparation

The first thing is to soak the lentilsif you didn’t put them in water the night before, you can soak them for 2 hours in warm water, maybe it will work, you can drain that water and use it for your plants, the important thing is to put the lentils in a pot with plenty of water, I like to cover it, don’t add salt.

Then you will decide everythingace vegetables (except potatoes) cut into medium pieces and you will boil them with the lentils, for 15 to 20 minutes, you will remove the vegetables with a slotted spoon and take them to mix them. this is the sauce base.

When mix the mixed vegetables with the lentilsyou need to add salt and spices to taste, this is the moment in which you will give flavor to your dish. The advantage of making everything in one pot is that I don’t get the dishes dirty anymore and you only have to wash the blender, save the chopped vegetables too, since you can we put them in medium pieces.

After boiling, you can add grated potatoes to your liking and chorizo, super important to accompany rice, feta and roast meat, lentils cook very quickly, you just have to wait for the potato to soften and you can serve it.
