It is ideal if you have one family or friends reunion and you don’t want to spend all your time in the kitchen, the sauce is made in the blink of an eye and the ribs once they’re in the oven you have 25 minutes on each side to enjoy and talk. It’s a simple recipe that can’t miss anything, so the ideal is to take a pen and paper and note down all the steps.
- two spoons of mustard
- 180 g of medjoul dates
- 200 ml of water
The key to this recipe is to make a rich sauce, at the right sweet spot and not too thick, but rather runny to spread well on the ribs. Therefore, in this case, the first thing we need to prepare is the date paste.
This paste is very simple, we just have to put the water to boil, while we add the dates and, when the water is ready, we add them and grind them until we get a smooth and homogeneous mass.
The next thing is to put the mustard in a bowl in which we will put the date paste little by little. We will have to try to see the level of sweetness we want, when we have it, if we have left over date paste we can save it for other recipes, whether sweet or salty.
Now we only have to paint the ribs on one side and put them in the oven, which we have to heat to 200ºC for 25 minutes. After this time, we turn them over and repaint them and leave them for another 25 minutes.
This is the last step, when that time is up we will have the ribs ready on the inside and browned on the outside. It’s time to take them out of the oven and enjoy them with family or friends.
